How To Deal With Blogging Stress And Blues

Do you ever feel like blogging has become a task that is needed to be done? Like a task that needs your time and focus for you to accomplish. That it creates pressure on you to produce a sensible and substantial blog post so you won’t lose your followers and readers. It’s exhausting, isn’t it?

I, myself, is going through this phase especially that I am a full-time WAHM. For quite some time, I am trying to figure out how to squeeze my time so I can give blogging, household chores, caring for my baby and most of all (the thing I would love to improve on) my cooking the attention they need. If I wanted to do all of the things mentioned above, I don’t think that 24 hours in a day is enough.

I know I have been stressed but lazy for the past few weeks that I needed a wake-up call and some time to freshen up my mind. I feel like it’s too early to declare that I am going through a blogger’s fatigue because
I am not someone who’s all focused on writing alone. Plus, I have other things to juggle in my hands aside from trying to write a blog that’s worth the time of my readers. But somehow, the pressure still builds up most of the time. And it’s not good. Yeah, I know.

For the days that there are no creative juices to squeeze, no special occasion to celebrate and blog about and no new things to try out and share with the world… Here are some reminders that may give you some boost whenever you feel like “too exhausted to write”.

1) Blogging should be fun and enjoyable.

Isn’t it a happy feeling when you finish writing your latest blog post and hit publish? I know you are blogging because it is a fun activity and an outlet for you. Just like me, I write some of my mommy and non-mommy experiences and discoveries that I think are worth to share. Blogging should never be a burden. If it is, then you might be blogging for the wrong purpose.

2) Do not pressure yourself.

Of course, we, bloggers have the common goal of creating great blog contents to publish on our blog sites. But that doesn’t mean we have to do it every day. There will be days when blogging blues will if it creates pressure on your part as a writer, then you might need a break. Take a digital hiatus for a while. Though it sounds like moving away from your blog for quite some time, it is what you need for you to recharge. Even employees need some time off for them to recreate the energy they need to keep them going.

3) If you don’t feel like writing at the moment, then spend your time reading other blogs.

In my case, when I feel like I am running out of something to write, I jump into reading other Mommy Blogs. Why? Because they inspire me with their creativeness and how they venture mommyhood. Some mommies post their conversations with their toddlers and it gives me entertainment and excitement that someday my son and I will have that kind of conversations as well. After reading, I have this renewed energy to write and blog.

4) Think of your blogging goals.

We all have a purpose and reason as to why we started blogging. Be it for profit or just pure sharing and fun, we have goals in mind that we wanted to achieve. So for the days of blogging blues, think of why you started writing and blogging in the first place. You may then find yourself having the kind of motivation you need in order to achieve the zest and inspiration to write on!

The last point may not be applicable to all but I am including it as well…

5) Find an online community of bloggers.

Last time, I wrote about how online support groups did an amazing change in my pregnancy and motherhood. So then, if this kind of community does exist online, then I am pretty sure that there are also support groups available for us, bloggers! I actually found one that I am already a member of but is exclusive for Mommy Bloggers only. 🙂 They also became my inspirations in my blogging journey that no matter how busy mommies are, just like me, we can still maintain a blog and write about anything we’d like to share with the world! 🙂

  1. Yes, yes, and yes! You surely are not alone with this. I, too, feel like blogging is a chore most especially because I schedule it — I like scheduling posts, but sometimes it just adds to the pressure. My solution? Steer clear of sponsored posts and only write about what makes me joyful!

    1. Oops, to clarify, I meant sponsored posts about things that are not, you know, close to my heart. 😀

      1. Definitely! It’s hard to sound true kung hindi mo rin gusto ang sinusulat mo. I also love scheduling topics kaso there are times that I run out of topics to write.

  2. Blogging is fun for me even when I was a working mom. I felt the pressure now that I’m a stay at home mom. Perhaps because
    I even accommodate sponsored posts which sometimes are not my interest. Lesson learned. Agree very much with Maan to write more about things close to my heart. And yes, support groups are indeed very helpful. 🙂 happy blogging!

    Yeah I know what you mean.I’m a stay at home mom and sometimes feel too tired to write.I think the creative spark hits when I am relaxed and pampered hehe.

  6. I feel the same, especially when I have loads to write. I had major blogging blues that I deleted my first blog last year. Whoops :)) I think it’s because I entertained sponsored post that I wasn’t interested in – it made my blog feel chop suey so I didn’t have the heart to continue. Well, I know better now.   8. Ugh, I feel this phase at times too especially with the kids taking up every second of my time. It takes a while to get back into the happy blogging zen.
