I have always been dedicated on breastfeeding Gabriel. My goal is to at least breastfeed him up to 2 years and it actually is one of the factors why I chose to quit my corporate work and find online opportunities because I think that setup would work best for me and my family as we are yaya-less.
My commitment to this journey brought me a lot of hardships and learnings. I am one of those mommas who’s problem is the low yield of pumped breastmilk. It’s frustrating! I know. I’ve been there, too. I’ve questioned my ability to produce breast milk countless times already. Giving up on it crossed my mind as well multiples times. But I chose to push through it as I know how breastfeeding will beneficial to me and most of all, to my son.
Sure there are a lot of advice on ways you can boost your milk supply.
Keeping yourself hydrated at all times.
Taking malunggay capsule and eating soup-based food with malunggay on it (hmmm! Yummy!).
Being relaxed at all times (which is, in my opinion, really hard for us to do as mommas, right? LOL).
And a lot more!
My struggle to maintain my not so much milk supply introduced me to lactation aids like lactating coffee and choco drinks and my most favorite, lactation cookies! I love sweet delicacies. And if there’s something that I cannot resist, it’s the lactation cookies from the Confectionista PH.
Confectionista is an online home based bakeshop business by the SAHM and Mompreneur Mommy Steph Velasco. She offers freshly baked homemade healthy lactation sweet treats to lactating mommies like I am and other baked goodies! I met her in one of my Online Mommy Support Groups in Facebook and we’ve been in communication since then (because yes, she’s the kind of person who’s sweet and friendly! 😉 ). I’ve been her avid buyer especially when I was still pumping milk at work before I chose to become a WAHM. Her sweet treats are really good! In fact, I really recommend her to my friends who are also keen to breastfeed their little ones but needs a little help from lactation aids like these lactation cookies.
She recently held a raffle contest on her facebook page in which I won! Yey!
Yesterday, I was able to receive the lactation cookies from her and as expected, the goodness and sweetness are still in every bite.
Each box contains 28 pieces of lactation cookies. Confectionista offers a range of different flavors of cookies like red velvet, oatmeal, double choco and a lot more. But my personal favorite is her choco chip cookies! Really hard to resist. 😀 A box of 28 choco chip lactation cookies cost 299 Php.
That’s good for 1-2 weeks and depends on how many cookies you eat per day. The recommended is 2-3 but because the cookies are delicious, I eat up to 5 cookies per day. Hahaha! Aside from cookies, she also bakes (lactating and non-lactating) cupcakes, revel bars, and brownies that are moist, chewy and tasty.
These sweet treats really made me happy after all that I (and my family) have gone through this tough month of July. This is such a sweet gift to end this challenging month.
Thank you, Mommy Steph of Confectionista! You never fail my sweet tooth and well, my milk supply! Hihi.
Happy Latching, padede Mommas! And continue spreading breastfeeding awareness. 🙂
