Lactation Cookies For The Nursing Mommas

I have always been dedicated on breastfeeding Gabriel. My goal is to at least breastfeed him up to 2 years and it actually is one of the factors why I chose to ย quit my corporate work and find online opportunities because I think that setup would work best for me and my family as we are yaya-less.

My commitment to this journey brought me a lot of hardships and learnings. I am one of those mommas who’s problem is the low yield of pumped breastmilk. It’s frustrating! I know. I’ve been there, too. I’ve questioned my ability to produce breast milk countless times already. Giving up on it crossed my mind as well multiples times. But I chose to push through it as I know how breastfeeding will beneficial to me and most of all, to my son.

Sure there are a lot of advice on ways you can boost your milk supply.

Keeping yourself hydrated at all times.

Taking malunggay capsule and eating soup-based food with malunggay on it (hmmm! Yummy!).

Taking galactagogues.

Being relaxed at all times (which is, in my opinion, really hard for us to do as mommas, right? LOL).

And a lot more!

My struggle to maintain my not so much milk supply introduced me to lactation aids like lactating coffee and choco drinks and my most favorite, lactation cookies! I love sweet delicacies. And if there’s something that I cannot resist, it’s the lactation cookies from the Confectionista PH.

Confectionista is an online home based bakeshop business by the SAHM and Mompreneur Mommy Steph Velasco. She offers freshly baked homemade healthy lactation sweet treats to lactating mommies like I am and other baked goodies! ย I met her in one of my Online Mommy Support Groups in Facebook and we’ve been in communication since then (because yes, she’s the kind of person who’s sweet and friendly! ๐Ÿ˜‰ ). I’ve been her avid buyer especially when I was still pumping milk at work before I chose to become a WAHM. Her sweet treats are really good! In fact, I really recommend her to my friends who are also keen to breastfeed their little ones but needs a little help from lactation aids like these lactation cookies.

She recently held a raffle contest on her facebook page in which I won! Yey!

Yesterday, I was able to receive the lactation cookies from her and as expected, the goodness and sweetness are still in every bite.

Sweetness at the palm of my hand.

Each box contains 28 pieces of lactation cookies. Confectionista offers a range of different flavors of cookies like red velvet, oatmeal, double choco and a lot more. But my personal favorite is her choco chip cookies! Really hard to resist. ๐Ÿ˜€ A box of 28 choco chip lactation cookies cost 299 Php.

That’s good for 1-2 weeks and depends on how many cookies you eat per day. The recommended is 2-3 but because the cookies are delicious, I eat up to 5 cookies per day. Hahaha! Aside from cookies, she also bakes (lactating and non-lactating) cupcakes, revel bars, and brownies that are moist, chewy and tasty.

I love you, choco chip cookies!

These sweet treats really made me happy after all that I (and my family) have gone through this tough month of July. This is such a sweet gift to end this challenging month.

Thank you, Mommy Steph of Confectionista! You never fail my sweet tooth and well, my milk supply! Hihi.

Happy Latching, padede Mommas! And continue spreading breastfeeding awareness. ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Wow! That’s very affordable! I think I will try her cookies too. I’m also a padede mom like you. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’m currently breastfeeding my 3rd child and he’s 20 months old already. I hope to breastfeed him until he turns 2 just like what I did with his older brothers.

In celebration of World Breastfeeding Month, I’m also selling my books that encourage breastfeeding (BREASTFEEDING: A Journey Worth Taking and Mommy Loves You Just the Same) at a discount. You might want to check them out in our online shop. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Seems like an interesting book! Plus the fact that I like (and miss) reading so much! Will definitely check it out. And yes Confectionista’s cookies are affordable and a must try! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Love lactation cookies as well. Congratulations on your win. I buy lactation cookies before but i find them too expensive thus decided to make my own cookies. Ihihi. And my boys got to share and have some as well because we could always bake anytime.

  3. Coi

Yey! I actually posted some tips to prolong breastmilk on my blog hehe! And yes, having lactation cookies also adds up to the supply. Anyway, I’ve tried some before but didn’t really have them all the time because they’re expensive and usually I just munch on them in one sitting hahaha!

  4. Hi-5 fellow breastfeeding mumma! Still breastfeeding my 31month old bubba. ๐Ÿ™‚ So maning mani ang iyong 2year target. ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Lactation cookies is one of my favorite snacks or even breakfasts. Haha. When I am too busy attending to my boys’ needs, I just take a few bites. Would love to check this brand and taste it as well. We bake our own lactation cookies but from time to time, try other brands. It is comforting to check on other brands as well.

  6. I wish lactation cookies were available in the market 10-12 years ago, when I was breastfeeding my kids! Nevertheless, Iโ€™d be happy to share your finds with my sister-in-law whoโ€™s breastfeeding her baby now. ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. I like the “padede Mommas” ๐Ÿ™‚ Very catchy!

My son is 3 years and 7 months already but he still demands that I breastfeed him during nap times and at night. We’ve been trying to wean him for quite some time but he is not yet ready to let go of my boob.

Anyway. Back when I was starting with our breastfeeding journey, I used to feel frustrated because my milk supply isn’t that high and I couldn’t keep up with his demand so we had to mix feed. I refused to quit and did everything to boost my lactation. I added malunggay on our meals and a colleague used to make to make shakes for me out of it. I also tried lactation cookies and tried to be a bit relaxed when expressing milk and breastfeeding my son. It is by God’s faithfulness and His amazing grace that I can still breastfeed my little one up to now. ๐Ÿ™‚

Don’t ever lose hope, fellow padede momma! God bless.

  8. Mommy Queenelizabeth

Ive tried lactation cookies before even if im not breastfeeding! I was just curious! And they’re good! The one i tasted was from the pioneer and original lactation goodies goddess, Paola Loot of Mommy Treats. Her cookies are amazing!

  9. Wow! Lactation cookies! Sounds like a very useful treat! Haven’t tried this yet. Right now, I take more fluids + milk to supply for my 2 yr old son. Still breastfeeding. lol!

  10. We don’t have lactation cookies several years ago. New moms are lucky to have this to boost their milk supply.

  11. wow lactation cookies! sounds like amazing, I’m a breast feed mom to my 2 yrs old, and right now extended breastfeeding na kasi more than 2 years old na ang toddler ko, for me to have more milk I need to eat tinolang manok with kapayas and also drink my milk, it’s nice na meron palang lactation cookies, congrats to you ๐Ÿ™‚

  12. Hello from another proud breastfeeding momma! I’ve been exclusively breastfeeding my son for 11 months and lactation bites are also my go to snacks whenever I feel my supply dips. I make my own no bake lactation bites but 28 chips for Php 299 is very affordable na ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Yes super sulit! ๐Ÿ™‚

  13. I am a breastfeeding mom also until my son reached two years old, but honesty I am not aware of the lactation cookies, nito na lang when I started blogging ๐Ÿ™‚

  14. Congratulations, sis! I’m glad more and more products for lactating moms are now available in the market, which means more choices for all hardworking mamas.

  15. Nice concept. I would buy for myself if I am breastfeeding.

  16. Joy

Congratulations on deciding to breastfeed your child! Truly, breastmilk is the best! I also breastfed my daughter for 4 years and 8 months. She self-weaned just last May 8th, on Mother’s Day. I had mixed emotions at that time; part of me was happy that she’s hit a milestone while part of me was sad because I knew for sure I’d miss our “bonding time.” Being healthy, eating nutritious food and constant direct latching/feeding of the baby will ensure increase in milk supply. Thank you for sharing! ๐Ÿ™‚

  17. Oooh they look so yummy! Would you believe I never had even a bite of lactation baked goods when I breastfed for 3 years? Now I think I really missed out haha!

  18. I’ve never tried lactation cookies back when I was breastfeeding. Naku, if I had know about this, I would have ordered a lot too as I love sweets. Haha. I’d make it a reason to eat more sweets. I’ll keep this in mind for future use. ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. Hahaha nagiging palusot ko nga din ito noon for me to eat sweets! ๐Ÿ™‚

  19. As a breastfeeding mom, I know that its not always that we have a full supply of milk. Starting out, I wasn’t an EBF mom, it was only around 6 months before we changed course to EBF, so it was a struggle for me to generate a lot of milk. But once I took lactation cookies for a month, I noticed a stark difference with the amount of milk I produced. Lactation cookies definitely can help your Breastfeeding journey!

  20. I’ve never tried lactation cookies. I was a cow when I was breastfeeding, heehee, but I still would’ve devoured those cookies of yours had I seen them.

  21. Ayi

Not that I am against this, but do lactation cookies really work? I never tried one before, though I would love to get my hands on cookies just because they are cookies :))

    1. Yes they do. I do feel my breasts being engorged after munching on a few of them hihi

  22. Wow 28 cookies for 299php? That’s a steal! My little one is also ebf since day 1(he’s 20months now) and I agree that lactation cookies help to maintain our milk supply. I will definitely check her store and will recommend this to my sister in law who also breastfeed her little one. Thanks for sharing!

    1. Ang sulit diba. Kaya hindi ako masyadong nabili dati kasi sa iba 400+ eh for 21 cookies. But Confectionista’s is cheaper and has 28 cookies! Masarap pa! ๐Ÿ™‚

  23. I love lactation cookies! This is definitely a treat for us breastfeeding moms!

  24. Yummy treat for breastfeeding mama! I am now pregnant and wish to breastfed paglabas ni baby. My first daughter is 16months already, she was breastfed for only 2 months. ๐Ÿ™

    1. Same tayo. I’m also 2 months pregnant now. And I plan to breastfeed pa rin. If you need help and tips or someone to talk to lang after you give birth, you can always e-mail me or message me on facebook. Have a safe pregnancy mommy! Go breastfeed when you give birth. :*

  25. I admire you for doing the best that you can to provide the best and nutritious milk for your baby.

Let me hear your precious thoughts! :)
